Digital signatures issued for free at Hanoi pedestrian street

ABO/NDO- Digital signatures are issued free at No.2 Le Thai To Street, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi, every weekend, from April to the end of 2023.

This activity opens a series of activities to promote people to use remote digital signing services, in order to carry out administrative procedures in the electronic environment, as well as contribute to the comprehensive digital transformation.

The National Electronic Authentication Centre, the Ministry of Information and Communications, in collaboration with technology and telecommunications enterprises and the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District (Hanoi), has launched the "Free digital signature booth".

This is an event in a series of nationwide propaganda activities to develop personal digital signatures, to reach the goal of 10 million subscribers by 2023.

According to Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung, when technology and the internet become popular, digital signatures are an inevitable trend.

Accordingly, digital signatures will help transactions on the internet environment quickly and conveniently, ensuring authenticity and high security.

A digital signature has the same role as an individual's handwritten signature or a seal of an agency or enterprise and will be legally recognized by law when conducting transactions in the electronic environment.

On weekends from now until the end of December 2023, residents of the capital and visitors to the pedestrian street in Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi, will be introduced to digital signatures and using digital signatures when participating in public services and electronic transactions.

In mid-April 2023, the Hanoi People's Committee will deploy a new public service system, with the implementation of completely electronic public services. Accordingly, citizens can digitally sign declarations on the public service system at home or anywhere, instead of having to directly sign papers and submit documents as at present.

State agencies will also perform electronic results in parallel with paper results.
