Nhan Dan Newspaper and Communist Review share experience in digital transformation of journalism
ABO/NDO- Representatives from Nhan Dan Newspaper have shared practical experiences in developing and implementing its digital transformation strategy, applying technology in content production and audience engagement, developing multimedia journalism platforms, ensuring information security, and establishing a digital newsroom management system.
On May 14, at the headquarters of Nhan Dan Newspaper (No.71 Hang Trong Street, Hoan Kiem, Ha Noi), Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Communist Review held a conference to exchange experiences in the digital transformation of journalism.
According to Phan Van Hung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper and Deputy Head of the newspaper’s Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation, since 2021, Nhan Dan Newspaper has been implementing a comprehensive digital transformation strategy to become a leading multimedia press agency. The strategy focuses on technology as the foundation of journalistic activity, adopting a media-tech model and effectively operating a digital newsroom.

By integrating modern technology into its publishing processes, Nhan Dan Newspaper has consistently modernised content and presentation across print, online, and social media platforms, aiming to better connect with the public, especially younger audiences.
In recent years, Nhan Dan Newspaper has launched numerous special media projects to commemorate major national events such as the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.
These products, creatively combining print and digital formats, have been widely welcomed by the public and highly praised at domestic and international journalism and media awards.
Recognising the critical role of digital transformation, since 2022, Nhan Dan Newspaper has organised an annual Innovation Day to honour outstanding projects, products, and ideas in innovation. The initiative encourages staff, journalists, and editors to be proactive and creative, thereby enhancing the quality and effectiveness of journalism in the digital era.
Most recently, Nhan Dan established a Technology Department and a Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation, underscoring its strong commitment to implementing a modern, multi-platform journalism strategy.
The working delegation from the Communist Review acknowledged and highly appreciated Nhan Dan Newspaper’s early achievements and experience in its digital transformation journey.
On this occasion, Pham Minh Tuan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Review, proposed that the two agencies strengthen cooperation through training programmes and exchange visits to foster mutual learning and experience sharing.
