According to data of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the province has more than 120 hectares of breeding tra fish water surface, with an average yield of about 40,000 tons per year, the average yield reached over 310 tons per hectare, mainly in Cai Be, Cai Lay, Chau Thanh and Cho Gao districts.
According to the plan of production and consumption of tra fish, by 2020, the whole province has about 180 hectares of industrial tra fish farming, with the yield of about 67,000 tons, etc ... In the province, there are 16 seafood processing factories for export with a capacity of about 180,000 tons per year, mainly tra fish export.
