Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Tan Phuoc district

On August 27, Tien Giang province held solemnly celebration the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Tan Phuoc district (August 27, 1994 – Agust 27, 2014).

Mr. Tran The Ngoc, Secretary of Tien Giang Party Committee awarded the traditional flag to Tan Phuoc district.

The event was attended by Mr. Tran The Ngoc, Secretary of Tien Giang Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Danh, Deputy Standing Secretary of Tien Giang Party Committee; Mr Nguyen Van Khang, Chairman of Tien Giang People's Committee; and many fomer leaders of district and province, etc…

Mr Danh stated the meaning about the process of mining, social - economic development plan of Dong Thap Muoi. The establishment of Tan Phuoc district and the result of the colonization of Dong Thap Muoi is the work of the Government, ministries and central agencies as well as the close leadership of the provincial Party Committee, departments and agencies and the positive contribution of the pepple.

Mr Danh emphasized: In the future, there is a need to consolidate the political system, train intelligence human, strengthen management staff of Tan Phuoc district. In socio-economic development leadership, there is needs to identify the advantages of the district and there are very specific solutions, exploiting effectively serving the development for the district;

Focus on development of intensive and modern production; enhance employment stability, improve people's material and cultural lives; implement good plan and management plan, especially complete general plan of socio-economic development of district 2015 – 2020 stage, associated with the development of the Mekong River Delta, etc...

Mr. Nguyen Van Man, Chairman of Tan Phuoc People's Committee said that through 20 years of development, under the close leadership of the provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee, the efforts of district leaders and the bunkered people, Tan Phuoc has made development breakthroughs.

The people’s life is improved, the average earnings of 2.4 million VND/person/year in 1995, this increased to 19.94 million VND/person/year; 45% of poor households, 5% of hunger, poverty decreased by 11.4%, etc...

Overcoming difficulties and promoting the achievements, the leader and people of Tan Phuoc district decided to implement winning goals outlined: to build strong economic district, powerful security defence and good social security ...
