The delegation of the United States Senate visited Tien Giang

On August 12, the provincial Department of Foreign Affairs welcomed the United States Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services Agencies working at Tien Giang. Leaders of the provincial People's Committee Office, Department of Health, Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Centre for Preventive Medicine attended the meeting.

Mr Nguyen Thanh Dieu, Vice Director of the provincial Department of Foreign Affairs gave Ms Lisa Karen Bernhardt logo of the province and souvenir.

According to Ms. Lisa Karen Bernhardt, the United States Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services Agencies, the purpose of this visit was to learn about the disease, the effects of climate change on human health, surveillance epidemic disease and proactive local response when epidemic disease occured.

The delegation studied fact-finding in the Center for Preventive Medicine of Cai Lay town and My Hanh Trung Commune Healthy Station.

The United States Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services Agencies has supported many health care projects in Vietnam, including influenza surveillance project in The Cai Be District General Hospital.
