Chaired by NA Vice Chairman Huynh Ngoc Son and head of the NA Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc, the conference heard the NA Office’s report on the oversight performance in 2014. Though oversight activities were thoroughly selected, they have not met increasing requirements of the country’s renewal process and development. In addition, results of follow-up activities of relevant agencies after oversight conclusions and suggestions made, were not as required.
To implement the oversight programmes of the NA and the NASC in 2015, NA Vice Chairman Son asked the NA Council for Ethnic Affairs, the NA Committees and agencies under the NASC to promptly complete their 2015 oversight plans, including sending specific delegations to localities to avoid duplicating activities.
He also asked NA agencies to enhance coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the State Audit of Vietnam, improve the quality of oversight activities over resolving voters’ suggestions and citizens’ complaints and denunciations, as well as those over issuing legal documents.
To effectively implement the oversight plans, the NA Office asked ministries, industries and localities to work closely with each other to prepare reports and provide qualified information for the oversight delegations, respond seriously and promptly to oversight delegations’ conclusions and suggestions, and report their implementation on addressing the suggestions to the NASC.
