Deputy PM Phuc made the statement at a December 23 meeting in Ho Chi Minh City with representatives of ministries, sectors and localities in the south to address several prolonged complicated complaint cases, mostly related to land disputes in Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding provinces and cities.
After hearing reports about the cases and difficulties in addressing the matters, Deputy PM Phuc asked relevant ministries and agencies to seek reasonable measures to help people stabilise their daily life.
He requested the People’s Committees of Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces have direct dialogues with people, listen to their ideas, and address their matters in accordance with legal regulations with great respect for their interests, particularly disadvantaged people, to have appropriate supports.
The Government Inspectorate and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment should work with relevant localities to inspect and review the cases as regulated, to clarify related details, consider legal aspects and report to Government leaders as soon as possible, Deputy PM Phuc said.
Leaders of provinces and cities should enhance their leadership, monitor reception to citizens and improve the reception apparatus to better address complaints, the official added.
