Military parade to commemorate 40-year Reunification Day

The Prime Minister has approved a programme of activities to take place in Ho Chi Minh City, including a military parade, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the southern region and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2015).

A grand meeting will be held followed by military and civilian parades along Le Duan Street, in front of Thong Nhat Square. The events will be broadcast live on television nationwide.

The cerebration aims to honour the historical significance of the April 30 victory, commemorating the individuals who sacrificed their lives for the country’s liberation as well as highlighting the great achievements of the country in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular over the past four decades.
