Speaking at a ceremony on March 28, President Sang praised members of the MSF, part of the Vietnamese armed forces, for their loyalty, bravery and many feats in the struggle for national independence and unification.

He recited a speech by President Ho Chi Minh describing the force as unassailable, the iron wall of the nation that can withstand even the most brutal enemy.

The MSF has become a key force at the grass-roots level, whose members are always ready to take combat roles, patrol land borders, sea and islands, protect social safety and join disaster search and rescue operations,

With these contributions, the force has been awarded many accolades from the Party and State, including being conferred the Hero of the People’s Armed Forces title twice.

President Sang urged the MSF to strengthen itself to build a firm people-based defence force, ready to respond to events affecting Vietnam’s national construction and defence.

He expressed his belief that the MSF would grow ever stronger and successfully fulfil every task entrusted to them.

Earlier President Sang sent a congratulatory letter extending his warm greetings and best wishes for the health and happiness of all officers and soldiers of the MSF and their families.
