Thorough preparations for IPU-132 important for Vietnam

Thorough preparation for the upcoming 132nd Intern-Parliamentary Union Assembly (IPU-132) plays an important role in successfully hosting sessions at the event while helping to leave deep impression on delegates of a friendly and hospitable nation and people.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung made the remark at meeting after a final rehearsal for the opening ceremony of the IPU-132 at National Assembly House in Hanoi on March 15.

NA Chairman Hung, who is also Head of the State Steering Committee for IPU-132, stressed that as the IPU-132 is an important large-scale parliamentary diplomatic event involving a large number of international delegates, the organising board has to ensure security and safety for the event.

He also called on the co-ordination among relevant agencies, sub-committees, and the IPU Secretariat in logistics and security.

According to the NA Committee for External Relations, preparations for protocol and training for around 600 volunteers for the event have been completed.

Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Defence, and Hanoi authorities have implemented a wide range of measures to ensure order and security as well as exercised drills on handling crowds and fires.
