The Vietnamese and Cambodian Governments signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the establishment of a one-stop-shop model at the Moc Bai-Ba Vet border gates in 2007 under the framework of the Greater Mekong Subregion Cross-Border Transport Agreement (GMS-CBTA).

Vietnam and Cambodia will co-ordinate to promote the implementation of this model, contributing to strengthening the economic connection between the two countries amid the upcoming establishment of the ASEAN Community in late 2015.

To date, Tay Ninh has mapped out and approved a specific plan on the building of an 8.18 ha good storage site for joint customs checks at the Moc Bai-Ba Vet border gates. The site will be able to expand to 20 ha in the future.

Leaders of Tay Ninh said that the total import-export revenue at the Moc Bai border gate reached nearly US$284 million in 2014 including US$248 million in export revenue.

According to Deputy PM Minh, Tay Ninh has good conditions to carry out the one-stop-shop model as it is the only border province with the Asian Highway (AH) passing through. The AH project, a co-operative project among 32 Asian and European countries will allow the highway to cross the continent and reach Europe.

On the same day, the Deputy PM visited Vam Trang Trau Border Post. He praised soldiers working at the post for maintaining security and order in the province and a good relationship with localities in Cambodia.
