The delegation of Tien Giang visited the twinned Pursat province

On April 9, the Tien Giang delegation led by Tran The Ngoc, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, visited the twinned Pursat province, Cambodia. Khoy Sokha, Pursat Party Committee Secretary and departments’s leaders of Pursat welcomed formally the delegation of Tien Giang province.

Khoy Sokha said that Pursat located in the northwest and is the fourth largest province of Cambodia. Agriculture is the strength of Pursat with fertile land resources. More than 70% of the population earn their living by farming. Besides planting paddy, soil of the province is suitable for a number of species of fruit trees and industrial plants. In addition, the province also has the advantage of exploiting seafood in the Tonle - Sap lake and breeding livestock.

On this occasion in 2012, the delegation of two provinces has signed a memorandum of cooperation with contents in major areas such as: Transfering of technical advances in manufacturing, food processing; aquaculture, breeding livestock, poultry; cooperating in the field of tourism promotion and supporting business investment sides, cooperation in the suitable fields, etc...

Speaking at the meeting, Ngoc stressed that Vietnam and Cambodia have been good friendly relations with the glue stick during the struggle for independence and building nation building. In relation to the fine tradition of friendship, the relationship between Pursat province and Tien Giang province to be more imbued with the sense of solidarity and attachment.

Ngoc suggested that the Pursat leaders to promote implementation of the signed memorandum of cooperation earlier and could be cooperated more in some other areas.
