State President visits exhibition of AP's photojournalists

State President Truong Tan Sang yesterday visited the first-ever photo exhibition taken by the US’s Associated Press (AP) war photojournalists with the theme “Vietnam: The war through photos” in 45 Trang Tien, Hoan Kiem district of Hanoi.

On display are impressive photos such as a photo of monk Thich Quang Duc on fire captured by Malcolm Browne in 1963 and the iconic “Napalm Girl” by Nick Ut in 1972.

The AP has ever won six Pulitzer prizes for its war coverage in Vietnam, four of which were displayed in the event.

After exhibition, the US’s Associated Press will offer all photos on the display for Vietnam Military History Museum.

The exhibition was held by the US’s Associated Press within the framework of official visit and work of the US’s Associated Press in Vietnam. The photo exhibition is part of activities, aiming to highlight the 20th anniversary of the normalization of Vietnam- The United States ties and strengthen further cooperative relation between two countries.

The exhibition will run untill June 26, 2015.
