My Phong commune is proclaimed the new rural commune

On August 6, My Phong commune was proclaimed the new rural commune by My Tho city People’s Committee and The Provincial Standing Steering Committee for National Targeted Program to build new rural areas.

 

Deputy Standing Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Danh, Chairman of the Tien Giang People’s Committee Mr Nguyen Van Khang, attended.

 

Chairman of the Tien Giang People's Committee Nguyen Van Khang and Vice Chairman of the Tien Giang People's Committee Tran Thanh Duc handed over the Recognition and the welfare work worth VND1 billion.

My Phong commune was selected to build the new rural commune in 2011 with only 7 standards among 19 standards. After 4 years of implementing the National National Targeted Program to build new ruaral areas, My Phong commune has got many obvious achievements, including 19 standards of the new rural commune. 

My Phong commune has mobilized and invested more than VND193.7 billion (people contributed more than VND60 billion) to upgrade its infrastructure, such as asphalting all main roads and building concrete lanes. The commune’s average per capita income as yet stood at VND30 million, the poverty rate decreases of 1.54 percent, etc…
