NASC convenes 41st session
The National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) opened its 41st session in Hanoi on September 14 under the chairmanship of NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

The ten-day session is scheduled to collect ideas from NASC members on draft amendments to the Penal Code, the Pharmacy Law, the Press Law, the Law on Organisation, the Law on Issuing Administrative Decisions, the Law on Import and Export Taxes, the Law on Professional Military Personnel and Defence Workers and Officers. The session also discussed a draft ordinance on training several judicial posts and the issuance of resolutions on managing medical equipment.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, NA Chairman Hung stressed the session’s significance and asked the members to uphold their responsibilities as well as to contribute valuable ideas to ensure the draft documents’ quality, contributing to preparing contents for the NA’s upcoming 10th session.
In the morning, the NASC gave comments on draft amendments to the Penal Code, which will be submitted to the NA at its coming session. Delegates thoroughly discussed supplemented crimes and the removal of death penalty.
In the afternoon, the NASC heard reports from its oversight delegation and the Government on the outcomes of the international economic integration process since Vietnam became a member of the World Trade Organisation.
