VFF President joins national great unity festival in Lao Cai

Politburo member and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan on November 13 joined residents of Tuong 1 - Tuong 3 Hamlet in the northern mountainous city of Lao Cai to celebrate the annual National Great Unity Festival.

Speaking to residents, the Party leader said the festival, which aims to mark the founding anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) on November 18, is an opportunity for people throughout the country to review all campaigns and activities that the VFF has launched, as well as honour exemplary organisations, families, and individuals in patriotism and solidarity.

He urged the local residents to continue preserving long-lasting traditions and to achieve all set targets for building a beautiful, prosperous and civilised homeland.

In addition, he also proposed they promote scientific and technological applications in agriculture and production in order to reduce poverty sustainably.

Previously, the VFF President Nguyen Thien Nhan visited people in the hamlet and met with exemplary families of the movement, including families of veterans and war invalids.
