On December 22, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Van Huong surveyed the pollution in Tan My Chanh industrial cluster.

According to Tien Giang Industrial Park Infrastructure Development Company, Tan My Chanh industrial cluster has 14 enterprises in operation. All have made report of enviromental effect. Total industrial waste and household waste in cluster are 2.1 tons per a day which is collected by the Urban Works Company.
There is about 600 cubic metre per a day but there is eight among fourteen enterprises installed the wastewater treatment, including six among eight enterprises processed wastewater to be recognized as A level. Therefore, the wastewater in Tan My Chanh industrial cluster affected the surrounding, especially Nam Vang chanal as public opinion reflected.
After surveying, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Van Huong steered My Tho city People’s Committee to dredge Nam Vang chanal, to build door of sewer to prevent water pollution from spreading to other canals in order to identify easily any waste water in industrial cluster polluted Nam Vang chanal.
It is need to have a monitoring plan to check an enterprise with untreated waste water, getting test sample regularly to find the causative agent of chanal pollution. The Provincial People’s Committee will be more determined to handle and overcome environmental pollution currently in Tan My Chanh industrial cluster.
Reportedly, Tien Giang Industrial Park Infrastructure Development Company is submitting statement for the Management Board of Industrial Zones, the Provincial People’s Committee’s approval to build the wastewater plant concentrated in industrail cluster by expanding the wastewater treatment station of 1,000 cubic metre per day which built since 2012.
