Sumarizing activity about East Sea, island and coastal areas in Tien Giang

On December 10, Tien Giang province People’s Committee sumarized activity of the Steering Committee about East Sea, island and coastal areas in Tien Giang in the year of 2015. Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Khang, Chairman of Steering Committee presided over the conference.

In the year of 2015, the Steering Committee concentrated on propagandizing legal normative acts, international agreements related to marine affairs, islands, promoting propagandizing about environment protection, sea level rise and the problem of climate change, searching and rescue, sea rescue.

About marine economic activities, the province now has about 1,199 registered fishing boats vessels to catching fish in the fishery area under the sovereignty of Vietnam, established 37 epxploited aquiculture cooperative groups and supported 10 long-range communication ventilation for cooperative group. In the past year, gasoline prices decreased by 25 percent in comparision with the year of 2014 so that the situation of sea exploit was fairly favorable, sea exploit production was estimated of 47.2 thousand tonnes, increased 1o percent over the same period of 2014.

In the prevention of natural disasters, the Steering Committee Steering coordinated with the provincial Steering Committee on Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue checked important points, dykes, sluice dam and mobilized people to reinforce the low dyke, etc... About the security work, continuing to strengthen check, to arrange forces in the coastal areas and adjacent areas, to equip with technical facilities, to provide knowledge maritime, island for officers and people to meet mission of ensuring security and order in the new situation.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Khang, Chairman of Steering Committee appreciated the role and coordination among members of the steering committee since then promptly removed difficulties to help fishermen cling to fishery for eploitation aquiculture on distant sea areas. In the year of 2016, Chairman required the Steering Committee focused on propagandizing to raise awareness of the people attached economic benefit with policies of the State, to ensure function, responsibility of each sector related to the East Sea, island.
