Former prisoners expressed their delight at the success of the 12th National Party Congress and shared their aspirations as well as the current operations of the Liaison Committee.

President Sang hoped that former prisoners would continue to promote their revolutionary tradition and encourage younger generations to preserve and respect revolutionary achievements.

The President said that the Secretariat has agreed with the Liaison Committee's proposal on the establishment of the Association of Vietnamese Former Prisoners of War to facilitate their operations.

Members of the Liaison Committee said that there are prisoners of war who have not received preferential treatment from the State, suggesting that relevant authorized agencies soon take measures to verify their files and provide them with appropriate policies.

The President emphasised that the Party and State always pay due attention to policy beneficiaries and national contributors, adding that the work must be carried out strictly and carefully to avoid errors.

On the same day, Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Dinh The Huynh paid a Tet visit to Ninh Binh province.

He conveyed his best wishes to the people and authorities of the province on the occasion of the Lunar New Year and praised the province for its significant achievements in 2015.
