Summation of twenty years of "Peasants' emulation in good production and business" movement

On February 19, the Provincial People’s Committee held the summation of twenty years of “Peasant’s emulation in good production and business” movement (1995-2015) and three years specialized on this movement (2013-2015).

Vice Chairwoman of Vietnam Farmers' Union Nguyen Hong Ly, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Danh, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Van Huong and leaders of departments and agencies, local authorities and typical farmers, etc… attended this event.

Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Nghia awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to 22 typical farmers.

Over the past 20 years, the movement of peasants’ emulation in good production and business has really become the movement of wide and deep patriotism, bringing large socioeconomic benefits.

This movement has contributed to the successful realization of socio-economic targets, the construction of new advanced rural areas, the transfer of cultivated crops and domestic animals’ structure in a direction of productivity, quality and effectiveness and the mechanization of agriculture and rural areas.

After 20 years of launching, the province has had nearly 1.41 million peasant households registered with nearly 910,000 peasant households achieved the title of good production and business at all levels, including 1,064 peasant households achieved the central title level, 92 874 peasant households achieved the provincial title level, over 231 100 peasant households achieved the district title level and over 585,000 peasant households achieved the grassroots level.

Through 20 years of implementing the movement, the province has had 20 peasant households awarded the second-class and the third Labor Order, 100 peasant households awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit, 5,888 individuals and collectives awared the Emulation as well as Certificate of Merit of the Provincial People’s Committee for achievements in the movement.

Addressing the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Danh highly appreciated the movement of peasants’ emulation in good production and business. To promote further achievements, he suggested that all level of the Farmer Association continued to strictly implement the directives, conclusions, decisions of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Prime Minister as well as many programmes action of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee’s plans related to activities and assignments of the Farmer Association.

It was necessary to prioritize the development of productive forces, focusing on human resources, promoting economic restructuring in agricultural and rural areas towards commercial production, large-scale as well as restructuring labor structure and settling employment on rural areas, promoting the application of science - technology into production on the basis of exploiting potential and advantages, etc...

At the meeting, there were 22 farmers awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit, 288 typical individuals and collectives awared the Certificate of Merit of the Provincial People’s Committee. My Tho city, Go Cong Dong district and Chau Thanh district were awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag in the year of 2015’s movement of peasants’ emulation in good production and business.
