1,166 NA election candidates named after 2nd consultation conference
A list of 1,166 candidates running for deputies to the 14th National Assembly has been approved after the second consultation conference organised across the nation.

At the central level, the second consultation conference held by the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee selected a preliminary list of 197 candidates from central agencies and organisations.
Meanwhile, in the 63 provinces and cities, 969 people were chosen to be candidates standing for the upcoming NA election.
A list of 7,462 candidates for members of provincial People’s Councils was also adopted.
Notably, the number of self-nominated candidates increased in comparison with the current tenure, especially in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The preliminary list will be sent to the standing boards of provincial fatherland front committees, in service of the collection of feedback from voters in the candidates’ residential areas, which is due to take place from March 20th - April 12th.
The third consultation round is set to be organised on April 13th-17th in order to decide on the official list of candidates for the legislative election.
