The council approved a resolution on the number and list of constituencies and the number of NA deputies to be elected at each constituency nationwide. The other resolution is on the principles of apportioning candidates from central agencies to localities.
Speaking at the session, NA Chairman and NEC Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung recognised the progress of preparations for the election by relevant agencies, particularly the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the NEC’s sub-committees and members.
As the election is only less than three months away (May 22), the workload on sectors, levels and the NEC members is very heavy. Meanwhile, the 13th NA and its subordinate bodies are promptly gearing up for the next meeting of the NA Standing Committee, which will finalise the agenda of the last session of the 13th NA, he noted.
He said the communication about the election was still below expectations, asking sectors and localities at all levels to pay more attention to this work while readying to ensure security and order for the election.
At the third session, the NEC members agreed on the plan to examine and supervise local preparations for the election.
