National conference on learning Party resolution held

A national conference was convened in Hanoi on April 19 to study the 12th National Party Congress’ resolution.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong attended and addressed the opening ceremony.

The conference also saw the presence of Politburo members State President Tran Dai Quang, National Assembly Chair Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Permanent Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC)’s Secretariat Dinh The Huynh; together with many other Politburo members and PCC secretaries and nearly 1,400 members of the PCC, leaders of ministries, agencies, organisations, Party Committees at central, provincial and municipal levels and key rapporteurs.

On behalf of the Politburo and the Secretariat, addressing the conference General Secretary Trong stressed that the 12th National Party Congress’ success is significant to directing and encouraging the entire Party, people and the army to uphold patriotism, self-reliance and national unity in order to continue turning Vietnam into a modern industrialised country.

The congress’ resolution - a collaboration of all officers, Party members and people - was built on a thorough summary of 30 years of doi moi (renovation) in theoretical and practical aspects, inheriting and promoting the previous Party resolutions and policies while affirming and improving the doi moi policy through creatively applying Marxism, Leninism and Ho Chi Minh’s Thought and acquiring appropriate international experiences, the Party chief said.

He stated the importance of realising the resolution and urged the attendees to learn the document’s contents in order to create changes and a consensus in the entire Party, people and the army, particularly key officials in all sectors and at all levels.

The two-day conference will hear a presentation by Politburo member Huynh on major contents of the Party’s report at the 12th National Party Congress, another by Politburo member, PCC Secretary and head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission on the implementation of the Party resolution on urgent issues in current Party building, and the other by Politburo member and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on the implementation of the 2011-2015 socio-economic development plan and tasks in the 2016-2020 socio-economic development plan.

The conference aims to help the attendees understand new and major contents in the resolution, seek solutions to realise the resolution in order to fulfill set targets and communicate the resolution to the entire Party, people and the army to create a high consensus and determination in implementing the resolution.
