Activities marks 91st anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press
Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee Vo Van Thuong on June 16 visited and congratulated several press agencies on the occasion of the 91st anniversary of Vietnam’s Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925-2016).

Speaking at the meeting with Vietnam Television, the Communist Review, Dai Doan Ket (Great Unity) newspaper and Radio The Voice of Vietnam, Politburo member Thuong, who is also Head of the Party Central Committee's Communications and Education Commission, praised contributions by generations of Vietnamese journalists to the cause of national liberation, construction and defence.
He urged press agencies to promote their tradition and the results achieved to better bring the Party and State’s policies and laws to all citizens, creating motivation and social consensus for enhancing national unity, doi moi, and national industrialisation and modernisation.
Reporters and editors should improve ethics and professionalism to produce journalistic works that quickly convey accurate information to readers, he added,
* The same day, Hanoi authorities held a meeting with leaders, reporters, and editors of news agencies in the capital city.
Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai conveyed his best wishes to journalists on the occasion of Vietnam’s Revolutionary Press Day.
He said that Hanoi appreciated the important role of the media in information dissemination of guidelines and policies of the Party, State and city, while comprehensively reflecting a vivid picture of the socio-political life of the nation and the capital city.
He expressed his hope that press agencies would continue to accompany the city to promote its strengths and overcome drawbacks, to better serve its citizens.
* The Dai Bieu Nhan Dan newspaper under the National Assembly (NA) Office organised a seminar on the theme of journalism and the NA.
According to NA Secretary General Nguyen Hanh Phuc, the press has become a bridge between the NA and the people. Over the last 70 years of the NA’s formation and development, the press has actively participated and accompanied the legislative body during its operation.
He pledged to further facilitate contact of reporters with NA deputies, provide training on NA policies and legislation for reporters, and enhance exchanges between the press and NA deputies to accurately report on NA activities.
* The Women Journalists Club of Nam Dinh provincial Journalists’ Association met with officials and soldiers at Van Ly Border Station in Hai Ly commune, Hai Hau district.
* On June 16, the Tuyen Quang provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education launched a press competition on the theme of bringing the Party's resolutions to life.
