Deputy PM Hue receives former political prisoners

The Party and Sate always pay tribute and special attention to former political prisoners and internees with specific and relevant policies.

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue made the statement while receiving 45 former soldiers representing 10,000 members of the Quang Nam provincial’s Patriotic Prisoners Association in Hanoi on June 14, on the occasion of their visit to Hanoi and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.

He applauded the operation of the Quang Nam provincial Patriotic Prisoners Association, and encouraged the association to continue its work in paying tribute to its members. He expressed his pleasure over the large number of association members after 15 years of operation, which totals 10,000. Furthermore, nearly 1,200 among of them are continuing to work in the political system.

Deputy PM highly appreciated the efforts of Quang Nam province in caring for the contributors and their families and improving their living standards.

He expressed hope that members of the Quang Nam provincial Patriotic Prisoners Association will continue to uphold their patriotic and revolutionary causes, actively take part in charitable activities, educate the younger generations on the country’s fine traditions in different ways, contribute initiatives to local authorities and take the lead in building the great unity bloc in their localities.
