Symposium shines more light on President Ho's visions
A symposium analysing President Ho Chi Minh’ visions for national salvation and development was held in Ho Chi Minh City on June 3 to mark 105th anniversary of his departure abroad to seek ways to save the country (1911-2016) and the city’s 40th founding anniversary (1976-2016).

The event was attended by Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education Vo Van Thuong, and Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Dinh La Thang, among others.
Speeches and discussions delivered by historical researchers, professors and doctors at the event focussed on major topics, including the President’s visions for national salvation and liberation, his outlook on defining the development path for Vietnam, as well as his ideology of cultivating Vietnamese people’s characteristics and dignity.
Addressing the symposium, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics affirmed President Ho Chi Minh’s great role and contributions to the development of Vietnam.
With his clear vision, President Ho found a sound way to save the nation, changing his countrymen from slavery status into citizens of an independent and free country, the professor said.
The President also inspired the joint struggle of nations around the world for peace, national independence, democracy and social progresses, he emphasised.
Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Deputy Secretary Tat Thanh Cang said that the symposium was an opportunity to show respect to the great national leader while shining more light on the President’s strategic visions on major issues of Vietnam’s revolution.
The President’s visions have also brought valuable lesions for the authorities and people of Ho Chi Minh City to apply in constructing, defending and developing the city, he stressed.
