PM Phuc stated this years’ key tasks, including reaching a 6.7% growth, increasing exports by over 10% and controlling the inflation below 5%, saying that the Government has discussed and sought solutions to control inflation though numerous continued pressures on exports and the economic growth.
He stressed that both targets of economic growth and macro-economic stability should be realised as the growth can help address the economy’s balances, especially create jobs, collect the State budget and ensure social welfare, national defence and security.
According to a report by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the socio-economic situation over the past five months has been generally stable. The brightest development was the foreign direct investment attraction with US$5.8 billion of implemented capital and nearly US$10.2 billion of registered capital while 44,740 new businesses have been established with nearly VND350 trillion (US$15.75 billion) of registered capital.
Exports, estimated to bring in US$68 billion, have boosted the economic growth with a 1.36% export surplus, a year-on-year rise but still lower than the set plan.
