At the conference, the PCC will discuss and make decisions on the operation of the PCC, the Politburo the Secretariat, and the PCC Commission for Inspection and regulations on implementing the Party Charter, examination, oversight and discipline in the Party, while introducing candidates for high-ranking positions in State agencies and working on several other important matters.

On behalf of the Politburo and the Secretariat, General Secretary Trong highlighted important contents for discussion.

He stressed that regulations on the operation of Party organs specify the Party Charter and be in line with realities to further democracy in the organs’ activities, maintain the Party’s disciplines and collective leadership, improve the effectiveness of the Party’s leadership, and promote proactiveness, innovation and responsibility of other organisations in the political system.

The Party chief asked the PCC to give comments on draft regulations on the responsibilities and rights of the organs, the general secretary, the president, the prime minister, the National Assembly chair and the permanent member of the Secretariat.

Without amendments and supplements to the Party Charter during the 12th National Party Congress, the PCC was assigned to give directions and enhance oversight of the implementation, General Secretary Trong said.

He asked the PCC to thoroughly study and contribute ideas to draft regulations on contents that have faced difficulties in implementation.

The leader stressed the importance of the introduction of candidates for high-ranking leadership positions in State agencies in the 2016-2020 period, saying that the PCC considered and voted on the introduction of candidates for 34 positions. In the 11th session of the 13th tenure NA in March, the NA elected the president, the PM, and the NA chair while electing or approving 34 other leading positions in State agencies.

The PCC is responsible for the preparation and introduction of human resources for the NA’s election and adoption as regulated.

The conference will be wrapped up on July 8.
