Deputy PM hears opinions from voters in Long An province
Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh met with voters in Long An province’s Duc Hue district on August 5 in order to hear their opinions after the conclusion of the 14th National Assembly’s first meeting.

On behalf of the province’s NA deputy delegation, deputy Dang Hoang Tuan briefed the local voters on the big issues discussed and approved by the 14th NA at its first meeting that ended nearly a week ago.
According to Tuan, the NA elected and approved high-ranking State personnel for the 2016-2021 period; discussed and commented on the country’s socio-economic situation, and the realisation of the NA’s law building programme and supervision activities in the time ahead.
Legislators also discussed the government’s reports on the implementation of socio-economic development tasks and state budget in the first six months of 2016, outlining tasks and implementation solutions for the year’s latter half, he said.
Duc Hue voters expressed their delight at the success of the new NA’s first meeting; however, some also voiced their concern about the issues of corruption, deforestation, management of officials and national sea and island sovereignty.
Deputy PM Binh welcomed and thanked the voters for putting forward questions on the country’s hot issues at present.
He clarified that there would be no concession on territorial sovereignty. Vietnam respects international law on the law of the sea and constantly strengthens and builds a developed country and a strong national defence in order to safeguard the national sovereignty in any situations, he added.
Concerning the corruption issue, the deputy PM noted that the fight against corruption has seen positive development as drastic actions are being taken by both the Party general secretary and Party and State leaders. The task requires the combined efforts of the entire political system as well as close supervision of people, Binh said, stressing that there would be no prohibited zone for corruption prevention and control.
Earlier the same day, Deputy PM Binh visited families of revolutionary contributors in Duc Hue district.
