He stressed the youth unions’ role in educating young people on morals, lifestyle and ideals, particularly the country’s fine traditions, patriotism, national pride and the voluntary and pioneering spirit.
The Party chief asked the union to help the Party assemble and train youngsters as well as build a young generation with political will, intellect and creativity to inherit the proud revolutionary cause of the Party and nation.
Describing it as a reliable reserve force of the Party, he stressed that the Party, State and people pin their hope on the HCMCYU and Vietnam’s younger generations. He added that they hope the union will improve its function and mission to train youngsters as vanguard soldiers that will uphold the flag of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh to the end.
The fourth congress on excellent youth studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example, held in Hanoi from August 28-29, sent a message to young people nationwide, calling on them to nurture their aspirations and to have a firm will in order to realise them, while continuously striving to become good citizens who benefit their families and society.
