Ho Chi Minh City urged to promote function of people's satisfaction index

Ho Chi Minh City should further enhance the surveys in order to define the people’s satisfaction index of the state administrative services over the coming time, significantly contributing to the country’s institutional reform, particularly the administrative reform process.

The statement was made by Politburo member and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan while working with the City People’s Committee on September 27.

Over recent years, particularly since early 2016, the City’s districts have made efforts in assessing the people’s satisfaction of administrative services.

Speaking at the working session, the VFF President asked the City People’s Committee to carefully consider ways of using the defined people’s satisfaction index to improve the administrative systems at all levels.

The City should promote the role of people in supervising and participating in administrative reform as well as determine causes and types of services and procedures that left people unsatisfied in order to learn from experience and seek measures to overcome ineffective models, noted VFF President Nhan.

He also urged the Ministry of Home Affairs and the City to co-ordinate with each other to build plans and measures to accurately assess the people’s satisfaction over the coming years. He added that the Government and the VFF would set out specific programmes to define the people’s satisfaction index in the whole country.

Being a major commercial, political and economic centre of the country, HCM City certainly will face numerous arising issues in its development process; therefore, the municipal authorities should be further determined to solve problems, being worthy of a ‘super developed’ urban area, emphasised VFF President Nguyen Thien Nhan,

Ho Chi Minh City is implementing the assessment of people’s satisfaction of eight administrative procedures via different models. Currently, the locality has seven breakthrough programmes, of which administrative reform is the most important one, to better serve people and enterprises.
