Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, who led a delegation of the Central Council for Emulation and Rewards, made this statement while attending a working session with the provincial authorities on September 27.
Speaking at the session, VP Thinh praised Long An for organising numerous movements that have had a significant impact on society, contributing remarkably to realising tasks for socioeconomic development and ensuring social welfare.
She also urged the province to fully grasp and fulfil the Party’s policies and resolutions on emulation work, especially Directive 05, promulgated by the Politburo, which encourages the entire Party, people and army to follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example and lifestyle, while paying attention to exploring new factors and multiplying exemplary models to boost the intensive and extensive development of emulation movements across the province.
The VP also asked the province to take synchronised measures to promote the building of new-style rural areas and accelerate its economic restructuring.
In recent years, Long An has mobilised different resources for building new-style rural areas and has also encouraged local people to help build infrastructure such as bridges and roads in rural areas. Thanks to these efforts, 50 communes in the province have been recognised as new-style rural areas.
