Propagating the content of the Press Law
On October 28, in Can Tho city, Ministry of Information and Communications has just held the conference propagating the content of the Press Law in 2016 with attendance of delegates represented the Departments of Information and Communication, the media agency of provinces of the South.

At the conference, Head of the Ministry of Information and Communication’s Department of Press Luu Dinh Phu summarized some basic contents and the new points of the Press Law 2016 emphasized: Freedom of the press and freedom of speech in the press of citizen, the object of press agency establishment, association in press activities, power and duty of journalist, prohibited acts of press activities, etc…
The Press Law 2016 consists of 6 chapters with 61 clauses (up 25 clauses), including 32 newly-built clauses, 29 amendments and supplements to the provisions of the current Press Law and the law will take effect on January 1, 2017.
According to Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Hoang Vinh Bao, the new Press Law would be an important legal framework with new rules of progress, being suitable for realities of life and media work press as well as building a solid legal basis and specific to press development in the coming period.
