The 9th Congress of Tien Giang provincial Women's Union kicks off

On November 10, the 9th Congress of Tien Giang provincial Women’s Union, ternure 2016-2021 kicked off.

There were attendance of Deputy President of Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Danh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Hong Quang, etc… and 353 delegates represented more than 500,000 officers and members of Women's Union in the province.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Danh presented the baldaquin of the Provincial Party Committee to Tien Giang women.

In the first working day, the Congress elected the Presidium, the Secretariat and the Board of deputies verification, adopting the brief report of women's movement and Union’s activities last term as well as mamoirs about best practices, effective models in gathering and caring of members, women at the grassroots, etc...

Addressing the congress, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Danh praised the results and the maturity of the Women's Union at all levels in the province achieved in the last term. He suggested that, next time, the women's unions of the province strengthen the propaganda and education fine tradition of Vietnam women in Vietnam and Vietnam Women's Union, to help members and women to further promote their role in the new period.

Deputy President of Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyet confirmed the spirit to overcome difficulties and strive to achieve higher achievements of Tien Giang women. She also asked Tien Giang women to further promote local potential, always perform the role, tasks assigned as well as the fulcrum of the family.

She stressed that Women’s Union at all levels need to innovate strongly mode of operation with many focus and major programmes, promoting the construction of "five no, three clean" family associated with building a new countryside and urban civilization. In particular, the Provincial Women's Union required coordinated solutions for the sustainable development of the Union.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the 9th Tien Giang Women's Union for the 2016 – 2021 ternure and the Standing Committee of Tien Giang Women's Union for the 2016 – 2021 ternure.

The congress also elected delegates to join the upcoming 12th National Women’s Union congress.
On November 11, the Congress continued to work on the second day to launch the new term of the Executive Committee, to adopt the Resolution of the Congress ans to close the Congress.
