NA Standing Committee convenes fifth meeting
The 14th National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) commenced its fifth meeting on December 19 under the chair of NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

In her opening remarks, the top legislator noted that the four-day meeting would focus on considering the approval of the ordinance on court costs and fees and the foreign affairs and international cooperation programmes for NA bodies in 2017; commenting on the outcome of the 14th NA’s second session as well as preparations for its third session; and hearing a Government report on the implementation of Resolution No. 1052, dated October 24, 2015 on a number of plans, tasks and solutions to promote international economic integration.
Besides, lawmakers will discuss the NASC’s draft resolution on the presentation format for legal documents produced by the NA, the NASC and the State President; issue regulations stipulating the implementation sequence and procedures for a number of issues relating to the supervision activities of the NA, the NASC and the NA deputy delegation; and promulgate the statute on coordination between the chief justice of the Supreme People’s Court and the defence minister in the management of military courts, Ngan said.
She added that NASC’s membership would also comment on the issuance of a Government decree on a number of peculiar financial and budget mechanisms for the capital city of Hanoi, the adjustment of foreign capital plans for 2016, the extension of projects building Vietnam’s overseas representative offices and the allocation of capital for the State Audit of Vietnam (SAV)’s projects between 2017-2020.
A number of the SAV’s schemes concerning its State staffing; employment positions; salary, allowances and incentives for its officials and employees; and the master organisation scenario of the 14th congress of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions in 2018, will also be debated during the four-day sitting, the NA leader stated.
After the opening remarks by NA Chairwoman Ngan, NA Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu presided over the morning session.
NASC members heard a submission and an examination report on the submission from the Supreme People’s Court proposing the NASC issue regulations stipulating the collaboration between the chief justice of the Supreme People’s Court and the defence minister in managing the organisational structure of military tribunals.
