People's Police Force praised for accomplishments in 2016

The People’s Police Force was complimented on December 9 by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Tran Dai Quang and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc for effectively fulfilling its duties for the past year.

Its major achievements include ensuring national security without any acts of terrorism or sabotage arising; guaranteeing the absolute safety of nationally important facilities and national political, cultural and social events; and curbing the rise in crime.

In the past year, the police force has also paid attention to Party-building, the neighbourhood watch campaign and the strengthening of its human, technical and logistical capabilities, the top national leaders said.

For his part, Minister of Public Security To Lam thanked the top leaders for their encouraging remarks and said he would follow their guidance in leading the police force to fulfil its duties in the year ahead.

He added that the police force had determined the 12th Central Committee’s Resolution 4 on Party-building to be an important decree and decided to become a pioneer in implementing it so as to build a strong and clean police force and to make more contributions to the national construction.
