The third 10th-tenure meeting of Tien Giang People's Council opened

On the morning of December 6, at the provincial Conference Center, the third 10th- tenure meeting of the Tien Giang province People’s Council opened.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Van Danh, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Thi Sang and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Pham Van Bay chaired the meeting.

Addressing the opening meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Van Danh emphasized that, 2016 was the first year of implementation of Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress simultaneously implementation goal and task of socioeconomic development in 5 years from 2015 to 2020 proposed by the Resolution of the 10th Provincial Party Congress.

The province’s socio-economic development in 2016 has got positive results: the economic growth rate of year reached 8.5 percent, the total revenue reached 112.6 percent of the plan, increased by 18.2 percent over the same period in 2015, the economic structure continued to transfer in the right direction of increasing the proportion of non-agricultural sector and reducing the proportion of the agricultural sector, the total export turnover reached 100.8 percent, increased by 5.5 percent over the same period last year. The social cultural sector continued to develop stability, social security has been guaranteed, national defense held security, the social welfare activities continued to be interested, etc...

He suggested that delegates to make the most of responsibility in contributing many quality ideas about contents submited at the meeting session in oder to contribute to successful meeting to meet expectation of the provincial electorate.

The meeting was conducted in 3 days, from December 6-12. In the first working day, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of relevant departments will approve reports on the activities of the Provincial People’s Council in 2016 and the tasks for 2017, the socio-economic development in 2016 and the tasks for 2017, summarizing some of comments reflected thoughts and aspirations of all levels of society in the province and suggesting administration building.

The Provincial People’s Committee will submit the draft resolution on proposing the Provincial People’s Council to issue a number of resolutions. Boards of the Provincial People’s Council report on verirying draft resolutions submitted by the Provincial People's Committee at the meeting, etc ...
