Joint efforts called for to prevent tax losses in Ho Chi Minh City

Politburo member and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee Dinh La Thang called for the joint efforts from agencies at all levels to prevent tax losses as well as trade fraud and smuggling.

He made the remark at his working session on February 13 with leaders of the municipal People’s Committee as well as departments and agencies to discuss effective measures to prevent tax losses, ensuring State budget collection and spending in the City in 2017

Addressing the working session, the Politburo member appreciated the efforts made by local agencies under the finance sector in managing State budget collection and spending.

 

He urged for the enhancement of the Party’s leadership, inspection and supervision in preventing budget revenue loss to create a fair business environment, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the City.

 

The Politburo member asked relevant agencies to propose to central agencies and the Government not to use cash as well as enhance the application of scientific and technological advances in tax collection to prevent losses and ensure tax transparency.

 

It is highly essential to increase sanctions for tax evasion activities as well as improve the professional qualifications and moral qualities of tax officers, he added.

 

He also stressed the necessity of co-ordination among agencies and branches to strengthen the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.
