Speaking at the function, the top legislator noted that she highly appreciated the contributions made by the young police force to the national construction and defence.
She stressed that the 20 youngsters, who were winners of the 2016 “Young Police Officers” Awards, have been shining examples fostering emulation movements within the police force, as well as youth campaigns nationwide in general.
She asked the people’s police force to continue reforming its operations, to stay ready to deal with non-traditional security challenges; to maintain political security in any circumstances; to firmly safeguard independence, national sovereignty and territorial integrity; to protect the Party, the fatherland, the people and socialism; and to create a peaceful, stable and healthy environment to facilitate national development.
She called on leaders and commanders in the people’s police force to nurture the ideals, dreams, trust and aspiration of its young members. Youth union officers in the force were also asked to design more attractive activities to draw full participation from members, and detect and honour exemplary young models standing out in such activities in a timely manner.
She emphasised that young police officers must work harder to protect and promote the image of the Vietnam People’s Police force while upholding their key frontline role in socio-economic development, medical and educational advancement, poverty reduction and social welfare maintenance in remote areas and regions affected by natural disasters.
