Dong Thap urged to boost growth of economic sectors

Dong Thap should strictly implement the resolutions of the Party, National Assembly and Government on the tasks and measures required to boost the growth of the economic sectors, towards achieving the 2017 economic growth target.

Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh made the statement while working with the leaders of Dong Thap province, on September 15.

Addressing the working session, the Deputy PM highlighted the potential and advantages of the province, including the two major rivers (Tien and Hau rivers) and a large agricultural land fund.

He also emphasised that a lot of highways pass through the province, creating favourable conditions for the locality to closely connect with other Mekong River Delta provinces and Cambodia.

Deputy PM Binh stressed that Dong Thap is one of leading provinces in their implementation of the directives of the Government and PM on improving the business and investment environment, supporting enterprises and encouraging start-up programmes.

He asked the province to continue scaling up production-consumption connectivity models, to accumulate a large area of land, and apply high-tech in agricultural and aquatic production and processing.

It is essential to accelerate the implementation of infrastructure investment projects, in addition to the administrative reform plans, added the Deputy PM.

On the occasion, Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh presented gifts to the family of fallen soldier Nguyen Thi Phoi in My Phu ward, Cao Lanh city and visited Domesco Dong Thap Medical Import – Export joint stock company.
