It is necessary to issue a project for public land use and management to 2020

On the afternoon of September 26, the Tien Giang provincial People's Council’s delegation led by Vice Chairwoman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Council worked with the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee (PPC) on the use and management of public land in the province to June 30, 2017.

According to report of the PPC, Tien Giang province has over 6,500 plots of land allocated by the state with a total area of over 13,000 hectares including 784 unused plots with an area of nearly 6,000 hectares, of which the coastal accretion of Tan Phu Dong district, the rest scattered in urban districts with small scattered area, etc…

At the meeting, the delegation and leaders of concerned departments and agencies raised many issues related to the management of unused public land plots; the shortcomings and limitations for the management of unused public land in some departments, localities, especially at communal level, etc…

The delegates suggested the PPC well as the concerned branches to soon remove difficulties so that the number of unused public land would be exploited more effectively in the future.
At this point, Deputy Chairman of Tien Giang People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan also clarified the questions of the delegates and presented solutions to remove difficulties for the management of the exploitation and use of public land in the coming time, etc...

Speaking at the working session, Vice Chairwoman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Council Nguyen Thi Sang shared the difficulties of the PPC as well as related branches in managing and exploiting unused public land. At the same time, she proposed that the PPC should soon complete and promulgate the project of management and use of public land until 2020 of the province.

It would be a basis for enhancing the role and responsibility of administrations at all levels to perform the task of management and use of public land fund, to definitely settle cases where public land fund were encroached by households, to propose options for auctioning small public land plots with no big front to increase budget revenues.
