Standing the Tien Giang provincial People's Council reviewed the reports and draft resolutions including: the Report on the socio-economic situation in 2017; the Direction of the task in 2018; the Resolution of socio-economic development of Tien Giang province in 2018.

According to the Tien Giang Department of Planning and Investment, the socio-economic situation in 2016 in Tien Giang province has seen positive changes. Threre are 21 out of the 22 target groups of the 2017 plan reached and exceeded the plan. The growth of economic has got strongly. Other sectors such as industrial production, export, trade, tourist attraction, budget collection, newly established enterprises, credit growth, etc ... continued to grow well; the fields of culture - society, defense and security got good progress, etc...

At the examination, the deputies, who are the heads of departments and agencies, gave ideas on the main targets in 2018, and at the same time basically agreed on the targets of socio-economic development in 2018.

The delegation of the Tien Giang provincial People's Council highly appreciated the socio-economic development targets and exceeds the targets set in 2017. However, there were still some targets not yet subtance such as: Local hamlets and cultural quarters, the percentage of households using hygienic water. Therefore, the monitoring delegation of the Provincial People's Council noted some indicators in 2018 such as: per capita income; the rate of medical solid waste treatment; the percentage of households using hygienic water, etc... These needed to be clarified with the representatives of the Provincial People's Council on solutions to achieve the above targets in 2018.
