Summarizing two years of implementation of the Law on citizen reception

On December 13, the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee held a conference to summarize two years of implementation of the Law on citizen reception and one year of implementation of the Law on complaints and denunciation.

From 2016 to 2017, the Tien Giang province received more than 8,600 participations with 12,300 people and 3,600 complaints including most of 2,700 petitions, 380 complaints and 160 denunciations. The main contents were the management of land use, compensation for ground clearance due to land recovery, granting of land use right certificates, policies on relocation and resettlement, etc ... Most of complaints, denunciations and petitions were directed the agencies and units to set up inspection delegations, inter-branch missions to review and check documents, contact with citizens to answer, solve as prescribed.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Tien Giang People's Committee Le Van Huong acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved over 2 years of implementation of the Law on citizen reception. He also suggested that: In the coming time, it is necessary to strengthen supervision and improve the efficiency of the settlement of complaints and denunciations at grassroots level; To consolidate the contingent of cadres and civil servants engaged in the reception of citizens, fully capable of well performing the role of advising in this work; To intensify the inspection of responsibilities for the observance of law provisions on citizen reception and settlement of denunciations; To step up the propagation and dissemination of the Law on complaints and denunciations in various forms and in a practical manner.

On this occasion, the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 15 collectives and 21 individuals got achivements in the implementation of the Law on citizen reception.
