Chairman of PPC works with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development

ABO - On February 26, Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee (PPC) Le Van Huong and Deputy Chairman of the PPC Pham Anh Tuan worked with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development about the key tasks of the provincial agriculture sector in 2018.

According to the plan in 2018, the agricultural sector of province will strive to increase the growth rate of agriculture, forestry and fishery from 4-5% in comparision with 2017 through the implementation of the restructuring agricultural plan as well as strive to have at least 15 communes to meet the standards of new rural commune. Especially, in 2018, the Tien Giang agriculture will develop and implement two important projects: applying technology 4.0 in rice production and building hi-tech vegetable area.

The application of high technology, information technology to production will facilitate management capacity, increase labor productivity and quality of rice; to increase profits, promote sustainable consumption and consumption, establish a value chain of vegetables, adapt to climate change, protect the environment and contribute to restructure the agricultural sector.

Speaking at the working session, Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong asked the provincial agricultural sector to implement well the solution group in 2018 as: To announce the plan of agriculture, forestry and fishery; to organize the preliminary review of the agricultural restructuring project; to transfer hi-tech agricultural applications; to organize production in the direction of linking the value chain; to strengthening trade promotion, market research.

He also required to focus on building, deploying and implementing two projects on applying technology 4.0 in rice production and building hi-tech vegetable areas, focusing on reviewing the planning area to produce, train human resources to propagandize and call for investment and invite technical assistance.
