The statement was made by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam at an early spring press conference held at Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper’s headquarters in Hanoi on February 27.
The event was also attended by Politburo member, Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education Vo Van Thuong.
On behalf of the Government, Deputy PM Dam extended his best greetings to the senior journalists and press agencies around the country on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.
He noted that the media reflected the people’s voice in a lively and truthful manner, as well as being an effective policy advice channel for the Government.
The Deputy PM asked the press to overcome all difficulties in order to fulfill their tasks in communication this year, particularly any issues related to the renewal of state enterprises and the application of advances in information and technology.
The press agencies should closely co-ordinate with the ministries and agencies concerned to continue to effectively implement the press planning, he added.
Since the beginning of 2018, the media has focused on communicating socio-economic missions, as well as reflecting the care from the Party and State for the people and the festive atmosphere around the country on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.
