In 2017, the Standing Committee of the My Tho city Party Committee made great efforts to lead the city’s to continue its development in all aspects. Specifically: The total production value reached VND 50,710 billion, up nearly 14% over 2016. The total budget revenue got VND 598.11 billion, reached 107.05% compared with the resolution. The industrial production value was over VND 37,207 billion, up over 17%. The average income per capita reached over VND 82 million/year, surpassed 0.19%; the total social development investment capital was VND 8,637 billion, exceeded 0.44% of the resolution.

Particularly, in the first quarter of 2018, the city's economy continued to grow with a budget of VND 160 billion, reached over 76% of the plan. The industrial production value was over VND 8,381 billion, up over 8%. Speaking at the working session, Deputy Secretary of the Tien Giang provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Tien Giang People's Committee Le Van Huong acknowledged the efforts of the My Tho city Party Committee’s Standing Committee.

He stressed that My Tho is a center of the first class and requested that the city Party Committee needs more efforts in the management and direction of staff resources. In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to prevention and combat of various types of crime, traffic safety.
