Leaders inform voters of outcomes of NA's sixth session

ABO/NDO – Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and a delegation from Vinh Long province’s National Assembly deputies met with voters in the districts of Mang Thit and Vung Liem on November 22-23 to inform them on the outcomes of the 14th NA’s sixth session and collect the voters’ ideas, aspirations and proposals.

During the meetings, voters expressed delight at the country’s positive economic and social security results in 2018, as well as the renovations towards efficiency in the NA’s operational methods, with the question & answer session taking place in a democratic, frank and responsible atmosphere.

They asked the functional agencies to crack down on the illegal trade, storage and use of drugs, manage agricultural planning in a better manner to limit the excess of supply, improve policies for national contributors and commune-level cadres, and invest in the upgrade and expansion of National Highway 53 connecting Vinh Long and Tra Vinh province.

 

The constituents also voiced concern over the increasingly complicated situation regarding counterfeit products, while asking for greater efforts against corruption.

 

Sharing the voters’ concern on drug crimes, Vice President Thinh said that the issue will continue to be seriously and thoroughly addressed in the future.

 

With regards to their recommendations on anti-corruption work, she affirmed that the Party and State are highly determined to prevent and combat corruption, citing that many major cases and senior officials have gone to trial over the past months. The Vice President called for the people’s active involvement in the fight against corruption and waste.

 

On the same day, Vice President Thinh attended a get-together in Vung Liem district, Vinh Long province, to mark 78 years of the Southern Uprising (November 23, 1940-2018) and 96 years of late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet’s birthday (November 23, 1922-2018).

 

* On November 23, Vice Chairman of the NA Do Ba Ty and a delegation of Lao Cai province’s NA deputies informed voters of the outcomes of the NA’s sixth session and the country’s socio-economic development situation in Bac Ha and Si Ma Cai districts.

 

The Si Ma Cai voters suggested that the merger of administrative units should be flexible, taking into account the specific features in each locality to ensure suitability and efficiency. Concerning the State’s support policies for upland areas, they recommended integrating capital sources, programmes and goals in order to attain optimal results and avoid wastefulness.
