Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong's Lunar New Year greetings

ABO/NDO – At the start of the Lunar New Year 2019 – the Year of the Pig, Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong has extended his best wishes to all the Vietnamese citizens throughout the country and abroad. Following is the full New Year message of the Party and State leader.

“Dear compatriots, comrades and soldiers nationwide,

A new spring full of joy, faith and hope is arriving back to our beloved country!

 

In such a meaningful sacred moment, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, I would like to cordially extend the intimate sentiments and the best New Year greetings to all the people, comrades and soldiers of the whole country and our Vietnamese community abroad. Also, I respectfully wish the people of foreign countries and international friends around the world a new year of peace, friendship, prosperity and happiness.

 

Looking back at the past year, we are happy to see that, with the unity and joint efforts of the entire Party, people and army, Vietnam has overcome numerous difficulties to attain significant and comprehensive achievements across almost all fields. It is not coincidental that an atmosphere full of excitement and trust has been spreading widely within different classes of the people, creating strong and positive impacts throughout the country and being recognised by many international friends.

 

Entering the New Year 2019, a crucial year in the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress and the five-year socio-economic development plan for 2016-2020, and towards the 13th National Party Congress, with new faith, new enthusiasm and new motivation, the entire Party, people and army will continue to unite, unify, promote the obtained achievements, and strive to overcome. all difficulties and challenges, in order to successfully implement the set goals and tasks, thus step by step building a more prosperous and beautiful Vietnam as Uncle Ho had constantly expected.

 

I wish every Vietnamese family and person a new year of abundant health, joy, happiness and success.

In celebration of the new spring and the new victory, studying Uncle Ho’s poetry, I also would like to have some verses:

 

Xuan nay hon han may xuan qua.

 

 

Thang loi tin vui khap nuoc nha.
