Emulation movements must be practical: Prime Minister

ABO/NDO - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has stated that all emulation movements in 2019 must be practical and have clear-cut criteria, noting that the emulation and commendation work must focus on following President Ho Chi Minh’s example.

The government leader made the statement while chairing a meeting of the Central Council for Emulation and Commendation on February 26.

He said that emulation movements made active contributions to the socio-economic development results in 2018, notably the activities to mark the 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s appeal for patriotic emulation.

 

However, in certain places, the emulation movements were not closely aligned with the political missions and professional works, and the effect of such movements was not as strong as expected, noted PM Phuc.

 

He requested that emulation and commendation work in 2019 should focus on promoting learning and following the moral example of President Ho Chi Minh in order to celebrate 50 years of implementing his testament.

 

The PM added that there are many shining examples that need to be commended and encouraged in a prompt manner.
