Retired senior leaders informed of Vietnam's socio-economic development
ABO/NDO - General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong chaired a conference held by the Secretariat on March 29, to inform retired high-ranking leaders about the country’s socio-economic development.

At the meeting, Deputy PMs Vuong Dinh Hue, Pham Binh Minh and Head of the Commission for Communication and Education, Vo Van Thuong, briefed them on the various aspects of the country recently.
A number of retired officials contributed their opinions on how to promote socio-economic development, actively and deeply integrate into the world, and build a strong and pure Party.
On behalf of the Secretariat, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong thanked the retired leaders for their impassioned and responsible opinions, while affirming that the achievements recorded in recent years, especially in 2018, were highly significant.
However, he noted that there is absolutely no room for complacency as there remains a great deal of challenges ahead.
General Secretary Trong stated that he expects the former high-ranking leaders to continue contributing their experience and expertise through various channels so that Vietnam will be able to adapt to the new situation.
He affirmed that the Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat sincerely listen to the ideas of retired high-ranking leaders, such as those contributing to the documents of the upcoming Party Congress.
On the occasion, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong wished the retired officials good health, longevity and a sharp mind.
